Who is responsible
Extreme Apps Inc., an Ontario, Canada corporation, is responsible for personal information handled through this website and our support correspondence. Contact our privacy contact at support@myteslane.com, with “Privacy” in the subject line.
This notice covers the Teslane public website and messages you send us. Browsing the website does not connect your vehicle, create an app account or give us access to your Tesla account. App screenshots and demonstration trips use illustrative data.
Information you choose to send
If you email us, we receive your email address, the name you provide, the message and any attachments you choose to include. We use them to answer questions, investigate an issue, consider a feature suggestion or manage your privacy request.
When you submit the feature-request form, the website sends your name, reply address, selected feature area, idea and optional device details to our support mailbox. We use temporary signed form tokens, a necessary security cookie and rate limits to protect the form. Rate-limit records contain keyed hashes rather than plain email or IP addresses and expire within 24 hours. Form content is not stored in the rate-limit records. Please leave out passwords, access tokens, payment-card details and information about other people that is not needed for your request.
Information used to deliver the website
When your browser requests a page or asset, our hosting and content-delivery services receive connection information such as your IP address, browser and device information, the requested resource and the time of the request. This information is used to deliver content, maintain availability, diagnose failures and prevent abuse. Security services may also use information about suspicious requests to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated attacks.
The product film is delivered from this website’s hosting service. We also use your connection’s IP address for a country-only lookup on our server to choose illustrative trips and units. We do not request device location or send your IP address to a separate geolocation service. The country result is used only for the current page; we do not save it in browser storage. Approximate or unavailable results may show California examples. Following an external link sends you to another service, whose own privacy notice applies.
Cookies, local preferences and analytics
We store your motion and cookie preferences in this browser so your choices can be remembered. You can change them using the controls in the footer or clear them in your browser settings. These preferences are not advertising identifiers.
With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website, such as which pages they visit, the links they follow and the device and browser they use. Analytics can use cookies and similar identifiers and involves sending usage and connection information to Google. We do not send newsletter addresses, support messages, vehicle information or other form contents to Google Analytics.
Optional analytics starts only after you choose Allow analytics in Cookie preferences and analytics is configured for this site. You can choose Necessary only or withdraw consent at any time using Cookie preferences in the footer. Declining analytics does not prevent you from using the site. We do not enable advertising personalisation or Google signals. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services and read the Google Privacy Policy.
Hosting and security services may use necessary cookies or similar technologies to deliver and protect the website. Browser settings also let you manage cookies and local storage.
How and why information is used
We use information to provide the pages and media you request, respond to your correspondence, improve our product using feedback, keep records of requests and protect the website and our rights. We do not use this website to collect precise device location, vehicle telemetry, contacts or payment details.
Where UK or European data-protection law applies, responding to a request may be necessary to take steps you ask for before a contract, or to perform a contract with you. Running a reliable website, answering general enquiries and preventing abuse rely on our legitimate interests, balanced against your rights. Legal recordkeeping relies on the relevant legal obligation. When consent is required, we ask for it and you may withdraw it.
Who can receive information
We use service providers for website hosting, content delivery, security, email and support operations, and Google for private newsletter-list storage. They receive information needed for their role. If you allow analytics, Google receives the analytics information described above. We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to a valid legal process, to protect people or our legal rights, or in connection with a genuine business reorganisation or sale, subject to applicable safeguards and notice requirements. We do not publish support messages or identify their authors without permission.
International processing
We are based in Canada. The services used to deliver this website, media and email may process information in other countries. Privacy laws and government-access rules in those countries may differ from those where you live.
Where a transfer is subject to specific legal safeguards, the applicable mechanism must be used, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards. You can ask our privacy contact about the processing locations and safeguards relevant to your information.
How long information is kept
Support and enquiry correspondence is kept for the time reasonably needed to answer the request, complete follow-up and maintain a record relevant to an ongoing relationship or dispute. The appropriate period depends on the type of request, whether an issue remains open and any legal recordkeeping obligations. Information subject to a legal hold may be kept until the hold ends.
Technical records are kept according to the operational and security purposes of the services that generate them. Your locally stored motion preference remains until you change it, clear it or your browser removes it. Your analytics choice is renewed after six months. Analytics cookies may remain until their expiry or until you delete them; withdrawing consent stops further analytics collection by this site and clears its accessible analytics cookies. You can request deletion of information you have sent us; we will explain any lawful reason we need to retain particular records.
Your choices and privacy rights
You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, withdraw consent where we rely on it, or request deletion. Depending on the law that applies, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, receive certain information in a portable format or appeal a decision. These rights can have lawful exceptions.
Email support@myteslane.com and describe the request. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity or authority; do not send identity documents unless we ask through an appropriate process. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any permitted extension or refusal. Exercising a privacy right will not, by itself, lead to discriminatory treatment.
Updates, children and sensitive information
If you subscribe to app updates, we use your email address to send news about Teslane releases, features and improvements and to manage your subscription. We ask for consent at signup and send a confirmation email before adding you to the active list. Confirmed email addresses, consent dates and subscription status are stored in a private Google spreadsheet accessible to our authorised administrator and the subscription service. The list is never published. Confirmed subscription changes are held in encrypted storage on our website server until they have been transferred to the private spreadsheet. After transfer, the server removes the contact details and keeps only temporary keyed records for up to 48 hours to prevent duplicates and respect unsubscribe requests. Each newsletter includes an unsubscribe link; you may also email support to unsubscribe. Unsubscribing removes your plain email address from the active spreadsheet and keeps a keyed suppression record and consent history. Sending a feature suggestion or support message does not enrol you.
We keep subscriber information while the subscription is active and retain only the records needed to honour an unsubscribe request, demonstrate consent or meet a legal obligation afterwards.
This website is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Please contact us if you believe a child has sent personal information that should be removed. Please also avoid sending sensitive information unless it is necessary for the issue we are helping you resolve.
Security and concerns
We use safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and the service, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. If you discover a security issue, email our support address with a brief description. Do not include live credentials or other people’s personal information.
If you have a privacy concern, contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or the privacy regulator responsible for your location.
Changes to this notice
The date above identifies the latest revision. We will update this notice when the website’s practices change and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required. A later notice does not remove rights you already have under applicable law.
